Things I Loved in January 2023 Fitness & Sports

In January, I made purchases with laser-sharp intentions.

Well, maybe not that intensely, but when I noticed a problem area I wanted to address, I looked for a product that could solve it.

On the list below is a book that’s helping me find a flow state more often, several makeup products that simplify the process of getting ready in the morning, the planner I use every single day, and more. Some of the things I loved are more about feeling good than they are about functionality, which, in retrospect, was nice during what is often the coldest month of the year.

These are the seven things I loved most in January…

    1. Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi

    $10

This book blew my mind. It’s about the psychology of being in a flow state, all the benefits that can emerge from it, and how we can find a sense of flow in our daily lives. I found the author’s exploration of this subject so insightful and would highly recommend this book to anyone who’s curious about the topic.

    2. Kosas Wet Lip Oil

    $22

This is the best lip gloss I’ve tried in a decade. It’s glossy but not sticky, and it plumps your lips in a really natural-looking way. I have a warm red color called Jaws and a pretty pink color called Malibu!

    3. H&M Satin Pajama Shirt and Pants

    $35

This is an adorable pajama set I’ve been wearing all the time. The satin material makes them such a treat to wear. I sized up to make the fit a little more comfortable!

    4. Wit & Delight 2023 Planner

    $20

I immediately started using our 2023 planner at the start of January. I use it to plan my days, track any high-priority tasks that need to get done, take notes, and even jot down my mood. It’s an organizational tool I have by my side every single workday.

    5. Tower 28 Mascara

    $20

This mascara is the absolute best—it lengthens my lashes and makes them look really big. I loved it from the very first time I used it. I will say that the wand can get a little clumpy after a while—it doesn’t bother me very much, but it’s something to keep in mind!

    6. Sézane Louise Jumper (gifted)

    $145

I love the style of this sweater, from the button details to the slight balloon sleeve. It’s such a flattering, versatile piece and I’ve been wearing it all the time. In terms of sizing, I find that it runs big, as many Sézane items do in my experience.

This style is currently low stock in many colors, but you can also browse more of my Sézane knitwear favorites in this blog post!

    7. Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter

    $25

This highlighter is amazing. It has a cult following, and for good reason! It leaves a gorgeous, natural-looking glow wherever it’s applied, and it lasts throughout the day. I apply it on my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, the tops of my eyelids, and my cupid’s bow.
