    Ingredients in Oreo Dip

    • Cream Cheese
    • Powdered Sugar
    • Vanilla Extract
    • Whipped Topping
    • Oreo Cookies
    • Strawberries

    How to Make Oreo Dip

Use a stand mixer or hand mixer to cream together chilled cream cheese, vanilla, and whipped topping.

When it is fluffy and lump-free, add in the the powdered sugar and continue mixing.

Optionally, add a pinch of salt at the same time to you add powdered sugar. I always add a pink of salt to my sweet recipes and it hasn’t failed me yet.

If you are making this recipe ahead, you can store this in the fridge for several hours or overnight. Storing in the fridge will not cause it to harden or change consistency—it will only keep it fresh. So, if you are ready to serve it immediately, you can skip the fridge.

Crumble 4-6 Oreo cookies by hand. It’s best to crumble them by hand (or even chop them) rather than use a mixer because you don’t want a fine dust.

When you are ready to serve, add the cookie crumbles. If you add them in too early they will become soggy and can turn your dip gray. I recommend adding the cookie crumbles at the time of serving.

Garish with a full cookie dipped into the top of the dip.

Serve this dip with any combination of dipping items you choose. My favorite selections are strawberries (I did a combination of sliced and full), cookies, including Oreos and other chocolate cookies, animal crackers or chocolate graham crackers.

    Tips for Making

    • If you want a hard dip you can form into a cheese ball, omit the whipped topping. This recipe is light and fluffy and best served in a bowl.
    • The best dipping items are a theme of strawberries and chocolate cookies. Feel free to add more red fruits (like raspberries) and more chocolate cookies (like chocolate chip) if you want more variety.
    • For best texture, don’t add the Oreo crumbles until you are ready to serve.

    How To Store Leftovers

If you end up with leftovers and you want to enjoy this Oreo Dip another day, just pack the dip into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to three days.

The Oreos in the dip will get a little soggy, so if you want you can add a few more next time you serve it. My kids didn’t seem to mind and enjoyed eating it the next day.

You will also want to refrigerate any leftover fruit you have. If you have any other dippers, like cookies, store them in a sealed container outside of the refrigerator as the fridge can make cookies soggy.

Yes, by removing the whipped topping you will have a thicker, more solid dip. It’s still delicious.

Can you make this recipe without cream cheese?

Cream cheese is the base of this recipe and I don’t recommend omitting it. You can, however, swap it for vegan cream cheese, which is dairy free.

How long will this last in the fridge?

You can keep this in the fridge up to three days. If you are making it ahead for a party, be sure to wait to mix in the cookie crumble when it’s time to serve. With that in mind, you can easily make this the night before a party or event.
