Manchester United are expecting a summer of major changes at Old Trafford with the club in the middle of a historic sale.
New owners could take control of United in the coming weeks and a new era will be underway.
One role that United are also looking to set in stone soon is someone to take charge of dusting the trophies in the club museum.
As reported by the Daily Star, United chiefs have advertised a post for an curatorial assistant, to look after the silverware at Old Trafford.
“The Curatorial Assistant will provide essential support for the Head of Heritage, Collections & Exhibitions Lead, collections management and assisting with the organization of the Museum’s exhibition program along with cleaning and redisplaying the permanent displays which will be major parts of the job role.” is the official job role, posted by the club.
The successful applicant must have a university degree, as well as experience in the field.
The ideal person will be educated to “degree level with a postgraduate qualification in Museum Studies, or equivalent is desirable,” according to the club.
Museum staff are also told by the club that the job will entail “leaning, photographing and redisplaying items in the Museum”.
Additionally, an “interest in football and football history would be an advantage”, say United.
Whoever lands the role will not find themselves short of work, given United’s rich history in winning trophies, despite a decade in the wilderness.
It was down to Erik ten Hag to break a six year trophy drought this season, which he duly did at the first time of asking – winning the first available silverware of the season, beating Newcastle to win the Carabao Cup, in February.
He also has the chance to add the FA Cup to the in-tray of the successful candidate, as United face City in the showpiece occasion at the start of June.
The Dutch manager will be hoping to keep museum staff busy over his tenure at the club, with United desperate to get back to the top of English football in the coming years.
