Jennifer Dorie isn’t only one of the most popular athletes in the IFBB Pro League’s Bikini division — she’s one of the most accomplished as well. Dorie has won the main prize at both the Olympia and Arnold Classic in the same year (2021), and she’s still got more to do in the sport.

At 26 years old, Dorie is still creating her legacy and is considered a top contender for the 2023 Bikini Olympia title in Orlando, FL. That contest is slated for the weekend of Nov. 2-5, 2023.

Even at such a young age, she may also be considered one of the greatest physique athletes in Canadian bodybuilding history. Here’s what you need to know about the bodybuilding great.

    Jennifer Dorie’s Contest History

As of June 2023, Dorie has competed in 19 contests since 2018 — she’s won four of them. Her lowest finish was a 10th-place result at the 2018 Bikini Olympia.

She holds the distinction of being one of four competitors in history to have won both the Bikini Olympia and Bikini International (Arnold Classic) in the same calendar year. The others are Nicole Nagrani (2011), Ashley Kaltwasser (2014, 2015), and Angelica Teixeira (2017, 2018). Dorie joined that elite club in 2021.

As a past Olympia champion, Dorie is eligible for the Bikini Olympia for life, meaning that she could compete in that contest every year without doing others if she chooses. The champ hasn’t placed lower than third in any show since taking fifth place at the 2019 Olympia.

Dorie has been involved in some of the most dramatic moments on the stage, including her two second-place finishes at the Bikini Olympia to Janet Layug (2020) and Maureen Blanquisco (2022).

She’s been on the winning end of such moments, as well, including her own 2021 Bikini Olympia win over second-place finisher Lauralie Chapados.

Dorie was the first Canadian to win the Bikini Olympia, and one of the first athletes from Canada in any division to have won an Olympia. The results that follow are courtesy of NPC News Online.

Jennifer Dorie’s Training Style and Workouts

Dorie has only competed in the Bikini division during her six years as a pro. She may not be trying to get bigger or more muscular, but she still trains hard to maximize her potential onstage.

After taking her time to warm up and mentally prepare for each workout, she has been seen pushing herself beyond failure in order to exhaust her muscles completely. Her attention to detail and flawless execution of each and every rep is why she can step onstage with confidence in every show she enters.

This back and biceps workout was shared on her YouTube channel as a part of her 2023 Bikini International prep.

    • Assisted Pull-Up: 2 x 10
    • Single-Arm Machine Row: 2 x 12
    • Moderate-Grip Lat Pulldown: 2 x 12
    • Wide-Grip Lat Pulldown: 2 x 10
    • Hammer Curl: 2 x 10 + assisted reps to failure

One of the other keys to success in her division is lower-body development. While it may not be as crucial as it would be for a Wellness athlete, Dorie leaves no stone unturned, which is why she uses exercises such as lying leg curls, barbell box squats, stiff-leg deadlifts, and single-leg hip thrusts.

Dorie also performs cardio several times a week to stay lean. The amount she does is determined by her progress during her prep.

Outside the gym, she pays attention to the importance of recovery and preparation for the next day’s training. She’s shared in the past that she was a fan of infrared saunas. She will also allow herself to indulge in cheat meals on occasion.

Like many top athletes in strength sports, Dorie is active on most social media platforms. As of June 2023, she has 279,000 followers on Instagram, 14,000 followers on TikTok, and her YouTube channel has 21,700 subscribers.

Aside from her onstage success, she also works with a variety of companies promoting supplements, meal prep services, bags, and clothing.

She has also been involved in the media side of the sport, doing interviews at various shows for a number of outlets such as NPC News Online.

Jennifer Dorie’s Stats and Life Outside Bodybuilding

Dorie was born on Oct. 7, 1996, and, according to Generation Iron, she is five feet, four inches tall, and competes at a weight of around 120 pounds. She came to the pro ranks from her home country of Canada in 2018.

Even though she was a new pro, she already knew something about Olympia-caliber competition. Dorie is married to 2013 Men’s Physique Olympia champion and fellow Canadian Mark Anthony.

Dorie and Anthony are the only married couple to have both won Olympia championships as athletes in history. Anthony no longer competes, but he does work as a coach and trains with Dorie as she prepares for contests. They currently reside in Las Vegas, NV.

    What’s Next for Jennifer Dorie?

Based on the success of other athletes in bodybuilding, Dorie may not have even entered her prime yet — she very well may have another competitive decade to go. Even with her competing in one of the deepest divisions in the sport, she still has plenty of time to rack up more wins and go down as one of the greatest athletes in her division’s history.
