The 2023 IPF World Classic Championships were held on June 11-18, 2023. The top raw powerlifters on the planet converged in St. Julien, Malta, to battle each other and the record books to achieve the top rank worldwide in their respective weight category.
The Women’s 47-kilogram division featured two of the most dominant athletes in the category’s history: reigning IPF World Classic Champion Tiffany Chapon of France and USA’s Heather Connor. The latter scored a new raw deadlift world record of 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds) on her third and final attempt to achieve the bronze medal overall.
Connor’s latest feat of strength makes her the first 47-kilogram athlete ever to lock out a 200-kilogram deadlift in sanctioned competition. Check out Connor’s historic lift in the video below, courtesy of the IPF’s Instagram page:

Connor performed her signature hair flip before pulling the barbell in a sumo stance. She appeared shakey for nearly the entire duration of the lift, but her speed did not change once the barbell left the platform. Once locked out, the joy kicked in as her celebration began before the judges called it a good lift.
Connor advanced her previous all-time raw deadlift world record by 7.5 kilograms. Her previous all-time raw deadlift record of 192.5 kilograms scored at the 2021 USAPL Raw Nationals held for almost exactly two years. For reference, the previous IPF world record raw deadlift was Connor’s 185-kilogram pull from 2022 IPF World Classic Championships.
