The 2023 IPF World Classic Championships saw Agata Sitko of Poland achieve a silver medal in the 76-kilogram class. She was unable to score a heavier total than gold-medalist Karlina Tongotea of New Zealand, who set an IPF squat world record of 225.5 kilograms.
However, Sitko’s performance in St. Julian’s, Malta, was still one of historic proportions. Sitko’s previous IPF raw world record bench press of 146 kilograms was scored at the 2023 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships. Her new record is 7.5 kilograms more than the second-heaviest lift by any other athlete in IPF competition — Laura Mautalen’s 145.5-kilogram bench press from the 2022 IPF World Junior Classic Powerlifting Championships.
