Goiania, Brazil will host the 2023 Musclecontest International Goiania Pro Men’s Physique contest on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023. Ten Brazilian competitors will face the judges with the goal of placing first and qualifying for the 2023 Olympia Weekend in Orlando, FL, on Nov. 2-5.

None of these men have qualified for the Olympia going into this contest. Still, the champion of this show will be the seventh representative from Brazil in the Men’s Physique Olympia lineup. The full roster is listed below by order of their competitor numbers.

    Athletes to Watch

Below are three athletes from the 10-athlete roster likely to contend for the podium.

    Lucas Viudes

Rookie Lucas Viudes will be making his second pro appearance for 2023. His pro debut came at the 2023 Sur Pro Cup Colombia, where he finished in eighth place. The winner of that show was Ismael Martinez Dominguez.

This is a smaller show, but it will be competitive. Even though it will be easier to stand out, nothing is certain. Viudes gained experience from that first pro show and can apply it to this one. Expect him to look better this time around.

    Rafael Oliveira

Rafael Oliveira is looking for his first professional win. His highest placing was third at the 2022 Sur Pro Cup. He is one of the veterans in this lineup with wide lats that taper down to a narrow waist. His symmetry will be a great strength for him.

    Gil Batista

Gil Batista has competed twice as a pro. His last show was the 2022 Musclecontest Mercosul Pro, where he finished third overall. He will make his 2023 season debut with the potential to win and qualify for the 2023 Olympia. He has great shoulders and arms, which can serve him well in this lineup.

    Other Notes

This is one of three Men’s Physique contests taking place on the weekend of Aug. 11-13. The Musclecontest Pacific USA Pro will be held in San Diego, CA. Men’s Physique is one of seven divisions being held at the 2023 T.R.U. Athlete Pro in London, England. The winners of those contests will also qualify for the 2023 Olympia.
