    DePaul Blue Demons add Arkansas guard Layden Blocker – fitnessnacks

    The Tony Stubblefield era was a complete disaster for the DePaul Blue Demons, resulting in just nine conference wins the past three seasons – including an 0-20 record in the Big East last year.

    The team let Stubblefield go before the year was up and moved quickly to hire former Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann, and the result has been a complete roster overhaul in Chicago.

    So far Holtmann has brought in 11 new players via the transfer portal, a collection of talent from all over the country including high major programs like Arkansas and Louisville, traditionally solid mid-major programs like Drake and Davidson, and low major squads like Mercer, UIC, and Coastal Carolina.

    How the pieces come together is impossible to determine as of yet, but it’s hard to imagine this collection of talent, and a coach with Holtmann’s pedigree, won’t find a way to be more competitive in the Big East in 2024-25.
