The Georgia Bulldogs and head coach Mike White received a significant commitment to their 2024-25 roster Monday night, as former Kentucky Wildcats commit, Somto Cyril has officially committed to the program.
At the same time, Cyril also entered his name into the 2024 NBA draft, while also maintaining his collegiate eligibility.
One of the top uncommitted prospects nationally, Cyril, as mentioned previously, is a former Kentucky commit who signed with the Wildcats back in November of 2023. However, Cyril would decommit from Kentucky, as well as be released from his NLI, when head coach John Calipari left for the job at Arkansas, and re-opened his recruitment.
The now Georgia commitment ranks as a four-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 44 overall player for the 2024 class. Playing for Overtime Elite, Cyril is also considered as the No. 9 overall center nationally.
Cyril now combines with five-star forward Asa Newell to compose what is one of the most talented Georgia recruiting classes in recent memory, with both ranking among the Bulldogs’ top commits ever according to 247Sports.
