Sean Miller’s first season as the head coach at Xavier went swimmingly: the team went 27-10 and earned a three seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, losing to Texas in the Sweet 16.
Miller’s second year, however, was a disappointment as the Musketeers went 16-18 overall and just 9-11 in Big East play, failing to make the tournament.
Now Miller and Xavier will look to rebuild with a bevy of graduations and key players entering the transfer portal, leaving the veteran head coach to try to find pieces in the portal who can come in and compete right away in the Big East.
So far so good, as the Musketeers have seven total transfer portal additions set to report to Cincinnati next season – including high profile mid-major guards, a double-double machine from the west coast, and an oft-injured but electric wing from the ACC.
