The Creighton Blue Jays will reportedly be the eighth and final team to compete in the Players Era NIL tournament in Las Vegas during the 2024-25 season.
Creighton was scheduled to be part of the longstanding Battle 4 Atlantis event, but the organizers of the new NIL tournament plan to buy the Blue Jays out of their contract.
The Players Era NIL tournament will be played for the first time during Thanksgiving week in Las Vegas, and each of the eight participating teams will receive $1M toward their NIL collective to disperse among their student-athletes – with the winning team earning additional money as well.
The games will be played at T-Mobile Arena, the Michelob ULTRA Arena, and the MGM Garden Grand Arena.
While there are already talks of expanding the event to as many as 16 teams in 2025, for now here is a look at the eight teams currently planning to participate in the inaugural event in 2024:
