For the third season in a row, college basketball forward Great Osobor will follow head coach Danny Sprinkle to a new school after committing to join the Washington Huskies via the transfer portal on Monday.
Osobor began his college career at Montana State, playing two seasons with the Bobcats before transferring to Utah State ahead of the 2023-24 season after Sprinkle replaced Ryan Odom.
He blossomed into one of the best forwards in college hoops with the Aggies, averaging 17.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game while leading Utah State to the NCAA Tournament after they were picked ninth in a preseason Mountain West poll.
Sprinkle parlayed that unexpected success into a gig replacing Mike Hopkins at Washington as they head to the Big Ten, and he once again brought his star player with him – although this time there was quite a big more competition.
Osobor reportedly picked Washington over Louisville and Texas Tech, and the rising senior reportedly will earn $2 million in NIL money according to a document which was reviewed by ESPN.
That makes Osobor the highest known valuation in college basketball this upcoming season, giving the native of England an opportunity to make life changing money a few years after getting virtually no attention from Division 1 schools.
For Washington, he joins a transfer portal class that already includes Mekhi Mason from Rice, DJ Davis from Butler, Luis Kortright from Rhode Island, and Tyler Harris from Portland.
