The Florida Gators and head coach Billy Napier received some significant news Wednesday afternoon via the transfer portal, as a former top recruit, Cormani McClain, has reportedly committed to the SEC program.
McClain, a former top recruit out of Lakeland High School in Florida, was considered as the No. 1 cornerback nationally in the 2023 class, as well as a five-star prospect. The five-star was also considered as the No. 13 overall player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 3 player in the state of Florida.
A one-time Miami commit, McClain recently spent the 2023 season at Colorado playing under head coach Deion Sanders, but saw a limited amount of action with the Buffaloes. This included a combined stat line of 13 tackles, one TFL, and two PD.
Looking ahead, McClain now returns to his home state of Florida where he will certainly be a name to watch for going into the 2024 season.
