Inland Empire residents paused Monday, May 27, to honor those who gave their lives for their country.
Memorial Day commemorations were held from Pomona to Redlands to Lake Elsinore, with words, music and reflection.

At Riverside National Cemetery, a morning event featured speakers, music and a rifle salute.
At Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario, wreaths were laid, doves flew and the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band played.
An event at Hillside Memorial Cemetery in Redlands included a performance from the Patriot Horns and a salute for departed veterans.

Meanwhile, motorcyclists marked the holiday on the road, trekking from the Riverside Harley-Davidson dealership to The Diamond stadium in Lake Elsinore for the annual West Coast Thunder Memorial Day Motorcycle Ride.
