After a weekend full of baseball involving 64 teams, 11 of the Super Regional participants have punched their ticket on the “Road to Omaha.” On Monday, the remaining five will be decided in Game 7’s across five regionals.
One team worth monitoring is last year’s national champions. The LSU Tigers have been shells of their former selves until the SEC Tournament got underway. Jay Johnson’s team has been on quite a tear winning six of the last nine games.
The other half of the national championship last season is also still in the mix after a disappointing showing for most of 2024. The Florida Gators will face off with Oklahoma State for the third and final team in the Stillwater Regional.

LSU Tigers vs North Carolina Tar Heels

How we got here:
The LSU Tigers and UNC Tar Heels each won their first game setting up a showdown in game 4. The Tar Heels won 6-2 sending LSU into the elimination bracket. After the Tigers took care of Wofford for a second time, LSU beat the Tar Heels 8-4 forcing a deciding third matchup in the Chapel Hill Regional.

UConn Huskies vs Oklahoma Sooners
Game Time: 8 p.m. CT

How we got here:
The UConn Huskies defeated the Duke Blue Devils in game 1 4-1, while the Oklahoma Sooners won game 2 by a score of 14-0 over Oral Roberts. In the first matchup, UConn defeated OU 4-1 to send the Sooners to the elimination bracket. After beating Duke, it set up another Oklahoma victory where they blanked the Huskies 6-4. Now we get the rubber match, winner advances to the Super Regional against Florida State and the loser goes home.

Florida Gators vs Oklahoma State Cowboys
Game Time: 2 p.m. CT
Network: ESPNU
How we got here:
The first Florida Gators-Oklahoma State Cowboys matchup came in Game 4 after they won their first games of the regional. The Cowboys were able to knock off the Gators, 7-1. Florida swept the Sunday doubleheader with a 17-11 win over Nebraska, and then 5-2 over the Pokes.

UC Irvine Anteaters vs Oregon State Beavers
Game Time: 2:06 p.m. CT | 55 minutes after game 6 conclusion
Network: ESPN+
How we got here:
After UC Irvine and Oregon State won the opening matchups of the regional, the Beavers defeated the Anteaters 5-3. They responded with a 10-run victory over Tulane to force the rematch. The game was suspended due to weather in the fourth inning with OSU clinging to a 6-4 lead. That game will resume on Monday afternoon. Game 7 will be played an hour after that game ends if necessary. UC Irvine needs a win or they head home.

Evansville Purple Aces vs East Carolina Pirates
Game Time: 11 a.m. CT
Network: ESPNU
How we got here:
Evansville opened up the regional with a 4-1 victory over ECU sending them to the elimination bracket. After East Carolina eliminated Wake Forest, the Pirates defeated both VCU and Evansville on Sunday by scoring a combined 29 runs. On Monday, Evansville and ECU face off in the rubber match, winners moves on and loser sees their season end.
