Former Scotland international Steven Fletcher has signed a one-year contract extension to stay at newly-promoted Wrexham.
The 37-year-old moved to the Racecourse Ground as a free agent in September last year and went on to net eight times in 33 League Two appearances, 23 of which were from the bench.
He was offered terms at the end of a season that saw Wrexham clinch back-to-back promotion for the first time in their history.
“We’re pleased Steven has re-signed,” says manager Phil Parkinson. “He played a key role on and off the pitch last season and we look forward to working with him again in our League One campaign.”
Fletcher’s first year at Wrexham saw the striker mark his 400th career EFL appearance with a hat-trick in the New Year’s Day demolition of Barrow.
Meanwhile, Luke Young, released at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, has joined Cheltenham Town on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old joined Wrexham in 2018 and went on to make almost 250 appearances for the Welsh club.
