One of the nation’s premier quarterback competitions, the Elite 11 Finals, has now officially come to a close out in California, with Alabama Crimson Tide commit Keelon Russell taking home MVP honors.
The Alabama commit is considered as the nation’s No. 38 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, and is rated as a four-star quarterback. Russell, a former SMU commit who flipped to Alabama back in early-June, is also the nation’s No. 6 signal caller, as well as the No. 10 player in the state of Texas where he attends Duncanville High School.
An annual event, the Elite 11 Finals are held each year between some of the nation’s top rising senior quarterbacks. Other finalists from the 2024 Elite 11 Finals also included USC commit Julian Lewis, Ohio State commit Tavien St. Clair, and Missouri commit Matt Zollers, among others.
Russell is now the second consecutive Alabama commit to be named Elite 11 MVP, joining now Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin who took home the honor in 2023 as a Crimson Tide commitment. Prior to Sayin, an Alabama quarterback had not been named Elite 11 MVP since Tua Tagovailoa in 2016.
