For the first time, the NBA draft has an overnight pause. Round 1 took place on Wednesday, with 30 players finding new homes at the next level. Round 2 begins on Thursday, June 27 at 4:00 PM ET, where 28 more players will get selected.
Two of those players were sitting in the Green Room on Wednesday, hoping and (likely) expecting to hear their name called before the day was up. But neither Duke forward Kyle Filipowski or Kansas freshman wing Johnny Furphy got picked – two of the biggest surprises draft day one brought.
They aren’t the only college basketball stars who had a night of uneasiness waiting to see where they’ll end up on Thursday.
