When Dan Lanning took over as the head coach of the Oregon Ducks, he made it very clear he intended to recruit at a level previously unseen in Eugene.
So far so good, as the Ducks recently landed wide receiver Dakorien Moore – the No. 3 overall recruit in the class of 2025 and the top ranked receiver.
Moore became the highest rated recruit in Oregon history, per 247Sports, and in fact is one of three 2025 commits who ranks inside the top 15 highest rated recruits of all time for this storied program.
Moore edged out EDGE rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux from the 2019 class for the top spot, while fellow 2025 commits Dallas Wilson and Dorian Brew come in at No. 14 and No. 15, respectively.
Lanning is also set to bring in a pair of top 25 all time recruits in the 2024 class: wide receiver Gatlin Blair (No. 22) and EDGE rusher Elijah Rushing (No. 24).
Oregon has also proven adept at navigating the transfer portal, including bringing quarterback Dillon Gabriel over from Oklahoma to replace Bo Nix under center.
The Ducks are among college football’s biggest favorites to win the national championship this season, which will be their first in the Big Ten.
They will kick off the season August 31 at 4:30 PM against Idaho at Autzen Stadium.
