The 2024 MLB All-Star Game rosters have been announced, with 67 total players getting the nod – 32 in each the American and National League, and three already predetermined injury replacements.
Unlike the NFL, where nearly every single player drafted comes from college, or even the NBA where the majority are from the Division 1 college ranks or international, the MLB has players from a ton of different playing backgrounds.
Of the 67 MLB All-Stars, 24 were born internationally, 20 came from Division 1 college baseball, another 16 were drafted straight out of high school, and seven came from non-D1 schools – including most notably Bryce Harper, who played at Southern Nevada Junior College before becoming the first player selected in the 2010 MLB draft.
The SEC is currently a powerhouse in college baseball, and they have five of the 20 All-Stars coming from the conference. Four came from the former Pac-12 conference, while two each came from the ACC and ASUN. The other seven each represent a different conference: The Mountain West, Missouri Valley, WCC, WAC, Big West, Big South, and AAC.
Below is a look at the 20 former Division 1 college baseball stars who were named to the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, broken down by conference:
