Las Vegas continues to dive headfirst into hosting marquee sporting events.
First they brought the Raiders over from Oakland, now they are working on adding the A’s, and multiple high profile college basketball matchups and tournaments take place in Sin City every single year.
College Football is one of the few areas – outside of UNLV – where there hasn’t been a ton of marquee matchups.
That will change in 2027, with a report from Brett McMurphy of Action Network HQ indicating that Miami and Utah will open up the season playing at Allegiant Stadium – the home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Mario Cristobal is plenty familiar with Kyle Whittingham and the Utes, having faced them multiple times from his time as the head coach of the Oregon Ducks.
Utah is heading into their first season in the Big 12, primed to compete with Kansas State, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and fellow newcomer Arizona in what should be an excellent season in the conference.
Miami has not quite lived up to expectation under Cristobal, and with the ACC in turmoil it’s fair to wonder if, by the time this game takes place, the Hurricanes will be in a different conference.
