After finishing the 2023 season with a 6-7 record, the 2024 campaign is likely to be an important one for the Auburn Tigers program.
After a losing record in year one of the Hugh Freeze era, the Tigers now enter year two with a noteworthy amount of roster turnover, but do have some exciting roster pieces to pair with some big returning names. This includes the likes of Payton Thorne, Jarquez Hunter, and Eugene Asante, as well as incoming Cam Coleman and KeAndre Lambert-Smith, among others.
With that revamped roster as well, what will now happen for Auburn in 2024? Will the Tigers take a step forward into becoming a SEC contender once again, or will Auburn post a season that could potentially find Freeze on the hot seat entering 2025?
Let’s take a look at potentially answering that question by predicting each of their regular season games, starting with a home matchup August 31.
Alabama A&M Bulldogs – 8/31

Prediction: Auburn 48, Alabama A&M 10
Auburn will open the 2024 season with a big home victory over in-state foe Alabama A&M. These two teams last met in 2016, a game in which Auburn was victorious by a final score of 55-0.
California Golden Bears – 9/7

Prediction: Auburn 30, California 17
The Tigers and Golden Bears met in California during the 2023 campaign, a game in which Auburn won by a final score of 14-10. This game should be a higher scoring than last season, with Auburn coming away with the victory once again.
New Mexico Lobos – 9/14

Prediction: Auburn 38, New Mexico 13
One of the biggest blemishes on Auburn’s 2023 schedule was a home loss to New Mexico State. Do not expect that to happen again in 2024 against the other FBS program from that state.
Arkansas Razorbacks – 9/21

Prediction: Auburn 28, Arkansas 17
The SEC opener for Auburn will come September 21 against the Arkansas Razorbacks, whom the Tigers defeated by a final score of 48-10 a year ago in Fayetteville. This matchup should lead to an Auburn victory as well, albeit by a closer score.
Oklahoma Sooners – 9/28

Prediction: Auburn 20, Oklahoma 27
The Oklahoma Sooners will make a trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium during their inaugural season as a member of the SEC. Auburn should keep this game close, but ultimately fall to the Sooners for their first loss of the 2024 season.
Georgia Bulldogs – 10/5

Prediction: Auburn 17, Georgia 42
The Tigers have not defeated the Georgia Bulldogs since the 2017 season, as well as left Athens with a victory since 2005. The struggles in Athens for Auburn are not likely to change this season, as Georgia will be big favorites October 5.
Missouri Tigers – 10/19

Prediction: Auburn 20, Missouri 35
After dropping two-straight contests, Auburn makes it three here with a road loss at Missouri. The Tigers have not defeated Missouri since they joined the SEC, with their last trip to Columbia having resulted in a 51-14 loss.
Kentucky Wildcats – 10/26

Prediction: Auburn 24, Kentucky 28
A matchup that could potentially be closer than some might expect, Auburn will drop their fourth-straight game here against the Kentucky Wildcats. However, don’t necessarily be surprised if the Tigers go into Lexington to pickup a big road victory either.
Vanderbilt Commodores – 11/2

Prediction: Auburn 33, Vanderbilt 17
Last season, the Tigers went to Nashville to defeat Vanderbilt by a final score of 31-15. Expect a similar victory for Auburn here on their home field.
ULM Warhawks – 11/16

This home game against ULM on November 16 could be the biggest margin of victory for Auburn in 2024. Expect a big win for the Tigers here.
Texas A&M Aggies – 11/23

Prediction: Auburn 27, Texas A&M 24
Yet another game on Auburn’s schedule that could see the result go either way is this matchup with the Texas A&M Aggies on November 23. Texas A&M did win last seasons game in College Station by a final score of 27-10, but the Tigers actually won the last meeting in Auburn back in 2022, 13-10, and this matchup could be just as close this time.
Alabama Crimson Tide – 11/30

Prediction: Auburn 17, Alabama 35
Auburn has not defeated in the in-state rival Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa since 2010. That will likely not change this season, even despite the Tigers having arguably a more talented roster than a year ago.
