Brooklyn Nets forward and former Kansas Jayhawks star Jalen Wilson was named MVP of the 2024 NBA Summer League on Monday.
Wilson appeared in five games in Las Vegas, averaging 21.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals while shooting 47.3% from the field and an outstanding 55% from beyond the arc on eight attempts per game.
The 6’8 forward spent four years in Lawrence with the Jayhawks, earning All-American honors as a senior when he averaged 20.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He was selected 51st overall by Brooklyn in the 2023 NBA draft and appeared in 43 games as rookie, putting up five points, three rebounds, and one assist per contest.
Wilson, interestingly enough, was named to the Summer League second team rather than the first team.
