A Nigerian boxer has become the second athlete at the Paris Games to record a positive doping test.
Iraqi judoka Sajjad Sehen tested positive for anabolic steroids on the eve of the Games on Friday, the International Testing Agency (ITA) announced.
Cynthia Ogunsemilore, a 22-year-old set to compete in the under-60kg category on Monday, has returned an adverse finding for furosemide, the ITA said on Sunday.
Furosemide is classified as a diuretic or masking agent on the prohibited list by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The sample was collected by the ITA during out-of-competition anti-doping control on Thursday.
Ogunsemilore has the right to challenge the finding and request analysis of her B sample but as things stand is provisionally prevented from “competing, training, coaching, or participating” in any activity during Paris 2024.
