    ACC football has 20 players selected to Maxwell Award watch list – fitnessnacks

    The last time a player from the ACC won the Maxwell Award was 2016 when Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson took home the trophy. The conference put themselves in a good position to break that streak this season, with 20 players added to the watch list – the most of any conference.

    The SEC and Big 12 each have 15 players named, and the Big 10 has 12. The ACC also has five programs (out of 17 total) with two or more players on the watch list, although the favorite to win the league – Florida State – has just one.

    Quarterbacks are typically the players selected for the Maxwell Award – given annually to the best offensive player in college football – with Washington’s Michael Penix taking home the trophy last year.

    That bodes well for the ACC who boasts a whopping 10 QBs on the list, with more than half the league’s starting quarterbacks in consideration.
