The University of Maryland announced eight inductees into the school’s Hall of Fame in the class of 2024, including four-time WNBA All-Star and current olympian Alyssa Thomas.
Thomas is on Team USA’s women’s basketball team currently in Paris competing for a gold medal, highlighting her remarkable college and pro career to date.
The 6’2 forward was a three-time All-American while at Maryland, leading the Terps to a Final Four in 2014 and winning ACC Player of the Year three times. She is Maryland’s all-time leader in points, rebounds, starts, and scoring average.
“Congratulations to our remarkable Hall of Fame Class of 2024,” said Damon Evans, Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics. “This is a tremendous class of Hall of Famers, including Terps who were National Players of the Year in their respective sports and others who became the first to achieve an accomplishment in their sport. Each of these Terps has made an undeniable impact on Maryland Athletics both on and off the field. We’re looking forward to celebrating this outstanding class and recognizing their academic and athletic achievements.”
Thomas was selected fourth overall in the 2014 WNBA draft, and has spent her entire pro career with Connecticut Sun.
