While the Big 12 and SEC get a lot of attention for basketball prowess, the Big East remains a powerhouse not just in terms of winning championships – but at putting guys in the league.
Eight of the 58 players selected in the 2024 NBA draft came out of the Big East, including four from the national champion UConn Huskies. The class itself was long labeled weak by draft pundits, citing a lack of starpower at the top, although the consensus already is more favorable now regarding the overall depth of talent.
That bears out when looking at the rookie ratings revealed for the upcoming NBA 2K25 video game. Every rookie is rated between a 75 overall and a 68 overall – and while draft slot heavily influences the rating for now, since games have not been played yet, there are still some fun data points to parse through.
