College Football and the landscape of the offense has evolved into a big time passing game. To win big games, you must be able to effectively throw the ball. That means the signal caller position continues to be the most important in the game.
The Big 12 has a nice string of quality quarterbacks running the offense. It is going to be a league that has some nice showdowns and as is always the case with the Big 12, some offensive shoot-outs.
We looked at all of the starting quarterbacks in the Big 12 and ranked the top 10. It will be interesting to see how these look when the dust settles at the end of the season.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports
Hoover was sharp down the stretch for the Horned Frogs. He finished with 62.3% passing and over 2,000 yards. He will need to limit the turnovers better this season, but has the ability to move up in this list.
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports
One of the more athletic signal callers in the conference. Houston went 4-8 last season, but they are hoping their second season in the Big 12 will be much different. The former Texas Tech signal caller threw for 22 touchdowns and rushed for six more a season ago.
Bryan Terry-USA TODAY Sports
Probably the most experienced quarterback in the conference. After having three seasons at Texas Tech and two at Michigan, Bowman will give it a final go in Stillwater. He threw 501 passes a season ago for 3,460 yards. He has the luxury of playing alongside Ollie Gordon, one of the best running backs in the country.

Johnson struggled in the Pop Tarts Bowl a season ago, but there is all sorts of hype around him this season. He was a four star prospect out of high school, and a big time dual threat.
NCAA Football: Duke’s Mayo Bowl-North Carolina at West Virginia
Greene broke out last season with over 2,400 passing yards and 16 touchdowns. He was also the best running quarterback in the conference. He is still working on his pass efficiency, but the tools are there for a top quarterback in the league.

Becht was the offensive freshman of the year a season ago. Matt Campbell is expecting big things from his signal caller. He will have tight end Benjamin Brahmer and wide receiver Hayden Higgins to get the ball to early and often.

Rising being healthy is a great reason the Utes are favorites to win the league. He led Utah to a Pac-12 title in 2022 with 64.7% completions and more than 3,000 passing yards. Last season, Utah was devastated by his knee injury. He is healthy, and poised for a monster bounce back season.

Everyone in college football knows the son of Deion Sanders. There is a ton of hype once again behind the signal caller. He will make the move to the Big 12 with Travis Hunter as his top target. The Buffaloes do not have an easy schedule, so he will be tested from day 1.

If Daniels can stay healthy, he and the Kansas Jayhawks are going to be in for a monster 2024 season. He played in just three games a season ago.

Fifita has a new head coach after Jedd Fisch took off for Washington. Fifita was terrific as the Pac-12 freshman offensive player of the year a season ago. The signal caller completed more than 72% of his passes for 25 touchdowns on the season. He does not show a ton of flash but has great abilities, and the Wildcats start their Big 12 career with a soft schedule for the most part.
