Crystal Palace are considering a move for Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers as a potential replacement for Sam Johnstone.
The Athletic reported Wolverhampton Wanderers were close to reaching an agreement with Palace to sign Johnstone.
The two clubs were working towards compromising on a fee of around £10million ($12.7m) for Johnstone, with Palace prepared to sanction his exit after he asked to leave Selhurst Park.
With Johnstone edging closer to an exit, Palace are weighing up whether to move for a new goalkeeper before the transfer window deadline, with Travers being a possible option.
As well as Palace, Luton Town and Burnley are monitoring the situation of Travers.
Kepa Arrizabalaga’s imminent arrival at Bournemouth has also impacted Travers’ future. The Athletic reported that the 29-year-old is set to join on loan from Chelsea.
Travers is part of the Bournemouth squad that has travelled to play West Ham United in the Carabao Cup second round on Wednesday, so any move would need to advance in the final 48 hours of the transfer window.
Travers played an important role as Bournemouth were promoted back to the Premier League in 2021-22 but he lost his starting spot the following season to summer signing Neto.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke City, where he made 13 appearances in the Championship before he was recalled by Bournemouth last October.
