Former Kansas Jayhawks star wing Kevin McCullar reportedly agreed to a two-way contract with the New York Knicks, who made him the 56th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft.

The 23-year-old was an All-Big 12 first teamer last season after averaging 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.5 steals for the Jayhawks. He led the conference in scoring and also recorded a pair of triple doubles.

McCullar was also a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award for a third consecutive year, highlighting his impact on both ends of the floor.

Concerns about his age and a knee injury – which held him out of the NCAA Tournament – led to McCullar falling nearly out of the draft altogether despite his productive college career.

While the 6’7 wing didn’t suit up in summer league due to his knee injury, his pedigree and productive senior season was enough for New York to ink him on a two-way deal, where he will split time with the NBA franchise and the Westchester Knicks in the G League.
