Player ratings for the 2024 rookie class were revealed for the NBA 2K25 video game on Friday, giving fans a first look at how this class stacks up against each other.

Widely considered a class with a lot of depth but little star power, it’s not a huge surprise to see every player from the class rated between 68-75 overall in the first iteration of the rankings.

That includes Lakers guard and former USC Trojan Bronny James, who was selected No. 55 overall by the Los Angeles Lakers to play alongside his father, NBA superstar LeBron James.

Bronny is the most talked about second round pick in a long time, thanks to his famous bloodlines and accusations of nepotism after an unproductive freshman season at USC last year still led to him getting picked.

Bronny’s 68 overall ranking in the game ties him with many other second round rookies, including All-American point guard Tristen Newton – the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after leading the UConn Huskies to back-to-back national championships.

Newton averaged 15.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists for the Huskies last year – topping Bronny’s points per game in all three categories. It’s clear NBA 2K25 is rating primarily based off draft spot, although the final college player selected – Kansas wing Kevin McCullar – earned a 69 overall.

Listed below are the 12 rookies from the college basketball ranks who received a 68 rating on NBA 2K25, including James and Newton. How many will have a better NBA career than Bronny?
