Ingredients in Chocolate Banana Smoothie

  • Frozen Banana – Frozen banana provides a nutritious and naturally sweet base for this chocolate smoothie.
  • Milk – Choose plant based or dairy milk—I used almond milk.
  • Greek Yogurt – I used vanilla Greek yogurt for added protein and sweetness.
  • Cocoa Powder – To create a rich chocolate flavor.
  • Almond Butter – Adds a richness and delicious texture to the smoothie.
  • Vanilla Extract – Provides aromatics and depth of flavor.
  • Quick Oats – A great addition for a more hearty, filling smoothie.
  • Chocolate Syrup – Optional idea for garnishing the inside of the glass.
  • Strawberries – For garnish if you have them on hand.

How to Make a Chocolate Banana Smoothie

In a blender, combine the ingredients: frozen banana, milk, yogurt, cocoa powder, almond butter, vanilla extract and quick oats.

I really like my Ninja blender and recommend it if you are looking for an affordable blender.

Blend and pulse until completely smooth.

If you like, use chocolate syrup to garnish the inside of the glass. It’s not necessary at all, but fun and fancy! Use a piece of fruit you have on hand to garnish the top of the glass.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

Tips for the Perfect Chocolate Smoothie

  • Using frozen bananas makes it unnecessary to include ice.
  • Unsweetened almond milk is my top choice for a smoothie.
  • Anytime you want to add sweetness to a smoothie, add honey.
