The Men’s Physique division has had a lot of contests so far in 2023, and two more will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023. The 2023 Los Angeles Grand Prix Pro at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, CA, features 23 competitors from nine states and four countries.

One athlete will leave as the winner with a 2023 Olympia qualification in their possession. All Men’s Physique pro show champions in 2023 qualify for the 2023 Men’s Physique Olympia on the weekend of Nov. 2-5 in Orlando, FL.

2023 Los Angeles Grand Prix Pro Roster — Men’s Physique

Three athletes on the extensive roster stand out as top contenders to podium on the West Coast and claim their ticket to the 2023 Olympia.

    Carlos DeOliveira

This will be DeOliveira’s third contest appearance in 2023. He started the year at the Arnold Classic Men’s Physique show in Columbus, OH, where he finished in fifth place. He then finished second to Emanual Hunter in the Tri-City Classic Pro on April 1, 2023, in Columbus, GA.

DeOliveira seeks his return to the Olympia stage after finishing the 2022 contest in 15th place. He’s hoping the third time competing in less than two months is the charm for that coveted Olympia qualification.

    Kevin Brown

The 2022 NPC USA champion has been putting that pro card to good use. He’s already competed twice in 2023. He was seventh at the Memphis Pro and fourth one week prior to this contest at the Wasatch Warrior Pro.

The rookie will make his Olympia debut should he win a contest and qualify. It’s not often a rookie makes it to the big stage — it would be a nice feather in his cap.

    Joseph Lee

After placing 10th at the 2021 Men’s Physique Olympia, Joseph Lee took the 2022 season off. He returned to the stage at the 2023 Wasatch Warrior Pro, finishing in third place with a bigger and more symmetrical physique than his previous showings. His comeback continues at this show, and a final callout is likely.
